The Power of My Word of the Year, Will You Partake?

Dear Friends,

This year, I have a word. My word is "Fruits." One of the main concepts I'm pondering and experiencing is “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (Matthew 7:20 KJV)

It's been really fun to see the things that I have been planting for years finally bringing forth fruit. Yay me! I've found that the fruit is coming much faster as well.

A fun story about that happened with my 9-year-old daughter.
We were taking back some clothes she got for Christmas. They were too small.

After much searching, she finally found a t-shirt she liked. We couldn't find another like it and we couldn't find a price anywhere. We took it up to the cashier to see what the price was. He tried a few numbers and wasn't getting anything. He called his supervisor and finally got a price, $1.00.

Now here's the thing, we joked, “There's not a price, so it's free, right?” After some struggles, we joked again, “It must be free.” I think we said some form of it's free about 5 times between my daughters, the cashier and myself. When he said, “One dollar,” we were thrilled and said, “We'll get it.”

He'd done a price check. So now, he had to plug the numbers in again to put it in as a sale. He struggled again. He couldn't think of the code for the department. Finally, he charged us for our other purchase and declared that t-shirt was free!

We weren't even trying to get it for free. We were totally joking. And yet, that fruit came through so quick!

When I asked Heavenly Father for some help with my routines, schedules, and time, he gave me loads of answers. I found books, recordings, multiple free sources and ideas to help me. I have managed to merge a few of the ideas that rang true for me. I have finally been feeling like I'm getting things done while still being a free spirit. When he answered me, he didn't just give me a piece of fruit. He gave me a full basket to choose from.

This is happening in other areas of my life as well. It's been pretty incredible as the answers just flow. I love having this word for the year. I am so excited to see what else will happen!

Do you have a word this year? Some people choose more than one, that's okay. I wouldn't want to choose more than three. If you don’t have a word, it's not too late. You can still choose one. If it's December 31st when you are reading this, you may not choose a word for this year but look at the fact you have a whole new year ahead of you. If you find me with a week left in the year, choose a word for the rest of the year and then either keep that for next year or choose a new one. It's truly a valuable addition to your life.

Leave a comment below telling me about your word(s) and experiences with this concept.

Lots of love,

Michele Lewis
